In episode 158 of Overweighted, we’re looking at the story of Samson and Delilah through the lens of Christian weight loss, food temptation, emotional eating, and spiritual warfare.
Because many of us have something in our weight loss journey that keeps pressing, pulling, tempting, and weakening us — and until we recognize what it is, we’ll keep being overpowered by the same patterns.
Samson thought he could keep playing around with Delilah and still remain strong. But the very thing he entertained became the thing that exposed his weakness.
And for many Christian women, the same thing is happening in their weight loss journey.
You may think you can keep playing around with certain cravings, comfort eating, emotional eating patterns, “just this once” compromises, and start-over cycles without it affecting you. But eventually, what you keep entertaining will begin to weaken you.
This episode is not about dieting harder, finding more motivation, or trying to control yourself in your own strength. This is about recognizing the spiritual battle behind the patterns that keep pulling you back, learning how to stop partnering with what weakens you, and choosing to follow God in your weight loss journey instead.

What if the biggest threat to your health journey isn't rebellion — it's almost following through?
